Imperian has hundreds of help files to help you learn more about the game and how to play.

3.8 Books

If you find a book, a journal, or something else that perhaps could be read,
you can try doing READ <whatever>. If it has writing in it, and if you can
read whatever language it is written in, you will be able to read it.
