Idol Stones

You can now obtain idol stones, which allow you to build a shrine (called an idol) anywhere on the main continent. Idol stones are consumable, that is you need one for each idol you make, but you can build shrines off of the idol as if it were a shrine. Idols also cannot be defiled so long as there are surrounding shrines of the same cult/sect. Building an idol requires 100% belief. For those worried that this will take your sect back down to a cult, you have to go negative in belief to revert to a cult, which usually only occurs if you don't have enough belief for the daily maintenance. Bash (or spend gold) on belief to get the levels back up before that happens.

This does mean that shrines from various sects/cults can exist near each other. Although you cannot build two shrines in the same room, having different shrines nearby will increase the daily belief cost as well as make it easier to defile the conflicting shrines.
