(Lack of) Pirates and (Abundance of) Doubloons

As a surprise to absolutely no one, we are NOT changing Imperian to be an all-pirate-all-the-time MUD. Communication should have now returned to normal; you will no longer be stuck talking like a pirate. We hope you enjoyed this foolish April excursion down the plank.

If for some reason you want to continue talking like a pirate, you may CONFIG ACCENT PIRATE. This will clear any other accent you have and cause you to talk like a pirate. CONFIG ACCENT CLEAR to return to normal speech.

As a surprise to some, doubloons are NOT an April fools joke - it really is a new system that is live in Imperian! This attempt to ease the burden of initial player buy-in is something we're hoping to continue to expand, with more areas being converted into the system in the next week or so. Additionally, we have some more ideas to spice up bashing in these areas that we may deploy over the coming months, so look for them!

In the mean time, happy April, happy spring, happy bashing, and good luck finding those Doubloons!

Penned by my hand on the 1st of Solis, in the year 160 AM.
