Lyria Risen

Roudimus, ever-diligent in his efforts to advance Khandava's nature-twisting capabilities, came to the Prophet with a new trick: a spore that would raise the dead into new life. Demon spore in hand, Lionas and others of the council made their way to Lyria's tomb. Before the ritual could come to completion, Mariposa strode furiously into the chamber. Having seen the twisting of the forest over many years, she was dedicated to stopping a further blow to the memory of Khandava's purity.

Her tirades were interrupted, however, by an attack from the now-risen Lyria. Powered by living evil and ready to feed, the rejuvenated Lycaean sank her eager muzzle into Mariposa's neck, draining her life and sending the butterflies screaming into the air. She rose from her resting place to sit in honour among the Khandavans once again, collecting vermin and badgers to sustain herself and savour their taint.

Lyrinan, disturbed by the council's actions and now traumatised at the events of the day, fled with a group of like-minded denizens to make his home in the Egeria forest as the blood rushed from his old friend's body. There he sits, leading his ragtag group and collecting butterflies in memory of the butterfly lady.

Penned by My hand on the 19th of Tenebrae, in the year 662 AD.
