Earlier this month, the loud barking of a brown and white dog was heard
through the ruins of Caanae. Koh and Jazel ran happened upon the
cheerful mutt, soon realizing that he had something in his mouth.
Attempting to ply the dog's attention with promises of bones and a meal
made from a cat, eventually the dog dropped the letter for them to
retrieve. The letter read as follows:

"I've told my sister what we plan on doing. She called me an idiot and
walked out. I get the feeling she won't join us. I'm going to try and
gather a few more of our neighbors, I want to try and save them all, but
I will save as many as I can instead. Not that our plan isn't that much
less dangerous. The seers have caused panic in everyone... even now
small bits of the moon fall. I don't want to see the destruction when
larger pieces fall. The few that have agreed to help are out working on
the ship now, doing last minute repairs in the cove west of the Shaahri
desert. I hope this will work.. I hope I can save people. All I can do
is hope... .

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Tenebrae, in the year 914 AH."

After playing with the dog for a few moments more, Koh and Jazel head
off to explore for the cove mentioned in the letter. Splashing around in
the water, they find a place to dive down under the surface. Upon
exploring, they happen upon the ship, wrecked upon the bottom of the
ocean floor.

There, they discovered the walking dead, the former crew of the ship.
The Captain, who seemed to have more coherant thought, spoke with the
two explorers and explained what had happened. As they set sail, a
larger shard of the moon crashed into the ship, sinking it into the
depths of the ocean.

Perhaps someday Derfan may figure a way to escape the waters his ship
lies under... until then, he and his crew haunt the ocean floor, along
with the creatures that live there.
