The moons of Moradeim and Sukhder struck each other violently in the
skies above Aetherius. Rather then destroying the world as Tyther had
first thought, the moons rained hundreds of shards to the earth below
it.

Immediately Tyther asked for the shards to be brought to him that he may
study them further. Erienne the Soothsayer also requested the shards,
stating that Tyther was a fool and would never use them properly. In
addition the Muamrite clan, led by the wise man Craligan requested them
as well. Craligan says his desire is to destroy the items, in an effort
to free the realm from their influence.

First reports state the shards give wonderful benefits, but also equal
afflictions.
