It seems Alekmanhala, the Prince of Flames, grew bored with his Khandava
home. The persistent Arboreals and their allies doused his flames each
time he sought to raise them, and eventually he began to seek another
home. After wreaking havoc in several of Aetherius's forests, he was
drawn to Dun Valley and the massive volcano that dominates the area.

The lands of Aetherius were shaken repeatedly throughout the month of
Bellum, each tremor more intense than the last. Finally a great groaning
was heard to emanate from the very earth beneath the Dun Valley, and
Alekmanhala began to shout, taunting those who sought to discover his
deeds. G'Quar shouted warnings that the valley had become unsafe, while
Talus insisted that he was staying and would not be moved.

Bringing his magickal might to bear, Alekmanhala forced an eruption from
the volcano, dormant for many centuries, and lava flooded into the
once-peaceful valley. Many lost their lives, and it seems that all life
has been lost beneath the fiery flood.

Ever resourceful, the valley's supporters sought the assistance of
Maklak, the ice wizard, led by the Lady Wren Kith'Vahni Caelis. There
was little he could offer, other than the knowledge of a mysterious
"Spirit of the Rivers." Now many seek this spirit, but she has not yet
been found. How long must the Dun lie boiling and tortured beneath the
flames of Alekmanhala?
