On the 6th day of Ferinus, in the year 547 AD Ganrok went looking for
Rostov to help him with some matters involving Cetara. Apparently the
fish in Lake Tageen were being poisoned, Ganrok was bound and determined
to find out who was behind this horrible deed. Rostov agreed and grabbed
the help of Grimoirium who quickly went to the aid of Cetara. Deciding
that the best option would be to investigate around the lake, the pair
took off. Singing could be heard in the distance and shark fins could be
seen sticking out of the top of the lake, Rostov and Grimoirium were
determined to find out what was going on! Soon they bumped into an
elderly seashell collector named Maerehon who taught them of the Society
of Cekui.
She spoke of two sylayan brothers, Serkeda and Nashda who founded the
society. The Society of Cekui was a group of like-minded individuals who
believed in the power of nature and the power of Lake Tageen. Serkeda
would get visions and the society would believe in these visions. They
decided to make their home on an island in the lake and started to
flourish according to Maerehon. They would have meetings to make sure
that everyone was doing their part to help nature. The leaders of the
society wore blue, hooded cloaks that signified to everyone else that
persons position within the society. One starless night when the wind
was almost sharp enough to cut right through you, Cetara decided to sink
the island and kill everyone.
Rostov and Grimoirium reported their findings to Ganrok, demanding that
he explain the actions taken by Cetara. Ganrok was a bit taken back by
the news that someone had survived and decided to speak with Alesad
before further speaking with the guys. Rostov and Grimoirium had
questions and they wanted answers so they went to the fish vendor
himself, Rynenth! Rynenth remembered the night but thought it better
that a victim share her story with the two, he went off seeking a local
villager. She came to them and explained how this so-called society
stole and killed her child, a sacrifice for the lake. This villager told
them how Serkeda was experimenting on sharks, how he thought them to be
Gods! She also explained how many of the so-called nature lovers were
living in houses with walls and all the modern comforts of civilized
living. She spoke of how they were trying to spread their hypocritical
ways to Cetara. She explained that they had to be stopped and yes that
Ganrok did hire Abraxan to sink the island. While the island was sinking
to the bottom of Lake Tageen, they did seek revenge on the locals
without a second thought.
Rostov and Grimoirium could not believe what they heard but knew that
something must be done about this. They decided to swim in Lake Tageen
and find the ruins of Cekui, encountering many hungry sharks. They
quickly killed the sharks and soon became accompanied by Maglust. They
found their way to the ghost Serkeda, who was very smug with them. Under
direct orders from Alesad they killed the two ghost that haunt the
ruins, Serkeda and his brother Nashda. They then returned to Alesad with
more information about the ruins and what they had found out, Alesad
then asked them to find out if Molly had anything to do with Cekui. He
had heard rumors that Annona assisted Cekui in housing their survivors
and wanted to know if there was any truth to this. The trio went to
Molly in Annona, asking her many questions about the situation. She told
them how she did have a sister growing up and only recently did she find
out that this sister was left on her parents doorsteps. Her parents took
in the baby, not wanting anymore innocent children to die on either
side.
They raised the child, Nylestia as best they could in their ways and she
eventually went away to travel with the gypsies. Seeking Nylestia, the
group found her on a road outside of Annona. She sat with them, sharing
her sorrow-filled story and how she can never explore the ruins of Cekui
to find out anything because she is to scared. Rostov, Grimoirium and
Maglust quickly reported back to Alesad who understood why Molly's
parents took the child in and decided that they should kill Maerehon and
let the Society of Cekui die with her. He also asked that the trio share
their story so that others aren't taken into this society without
knowing just what they are getting into.
