Hello, Imperian -


I know a lot of you don't know me. I'm not a PvPer, and as I found out at Iron Con, that's what gets you rep. I tried to pick it up recently, but I only was able to get a little bit better than terrible at it.


At any rate, there are two things I wanted to say to everyone, as this has been a huge part of my life. I have been playing Imperian for 10 years come November. In that time, I have made so many friends and was able to form so many friendships. In a way, these friendships are stronger than any I have in real life. When you get to know someone based solely on conversation, you somehow get to know the very heart of the person. Also, for those of us who move around a lot, online friends are simply easier, cuz hey - they go where we go, ya?


I know many of you also feel similarly to me on this point: This game has been your redemption at some point in time. I have noticed a certain type of person is drawn to this game. Even if we are all different in a lot of ways, I truly believe that this community is one of the strongest because of our individuals. I think Matt, Jeremy, and the others will never realize what they've given us. To some, they've given sight, voice, hope, creation, success, and power - all things which are unobtainable in the real world at times. We might fund their pay check, but y'know? They don't need us. We need them.


This is the second point I wanted to make. I mentioned I have been playing for ten solid years without ever taking a break. Yes, there is a reason behind me quitting. I recently obtained a third job, and I am going to basic training in January. Please note: Going to basic training in January. Yes, my life is going to be hectic until then, but to be honest, I don't have to kick my Imperian love affair until then.


So what's making good ol' Crone Sealia quit Imperian early? Well, to be frank, there are just a few players who are flatly ruining it for everyone else. For once, my Brown Coat Bards aren't enough to keep the Captain around. For those who know me, that's saying A LOT. Heck, Dias made me cry instantly in real life when he told me the person I wanted to replace me as GM quit my guild a week or so ago.


Stop being lamers. Also - stop that bloody meta-gaming that goes along with it. No one likes it. Just because your universe is tiny doesn't mean you have to ruin this outlet for everyone else.


Again, thank you to everyone who has built this universe. Even if I have not met you or spoken to you, you've contributed this this game and ultimately my life. As I said to anyone and everyone at the Con, "Thank you for existing and contributing to my happiness."
