something I wrote.....

Written by: Asakii Lewellyn O'Rouke

Thunder claps in my ears,
Lightning flashes before my eyes,
The grand symphony of nature,
Playing before me.
I watch as all I knew and loved,
Is torn from my heart, by the storm,
The black clouds roll over head,
Consuming light, as they consume my heart
Riding upon the winds that follow,
Death comes trumpeting, here to take my soul.
Maybe I should let it take me,
Life holds no mortal pleasure anymore.
Violence rules, and chaos is preached.
Corruption covers the barren wasteland.
I sit upon my hill, watching the world around me,
Only to find that I too have been affected by it all.
I deserve not my life, my love,
Or the love of those I knew.
I watch the pain and suffering daily,
And wonder what it would be like to just live again
As I once did.

Penned by my hand on the 24th of Aequitas, in the year 412 AD.
