Poem

Written by: Margravine Lakessa Murne, Grump's Grumpess
Date: Thursday, October 23rd, 2003
Addressed to: Sir Galvarium Calamus, The Ole Grump

I burned a candle for you last night
As I looked out at the stars
The silvery moon could not fathom
What exactly it was for.
I stepped out of my tent
Tiny glowing candle in my palm
Then explained my intention's core.
'As long as he has this guide,
A light through the evening passes
The holder of my heart
Can seek rest from being tired and sore.
It also shows I think of him
From so very, very far away
So he knows he's in my waking thoughts
And loved in midsts of my dreams' lore.
The silvery moon bid me goodnight
Understanding what the candle meant
He rose back up into the sky
And let me return to thinking of you once more.

Penned by my hand on the 14th of Artificium, in the year 417 AD.
