What is a man, but flesh and bone?
Character to define, no ability to rewind.
Seasons, Stages, Natural Rages,
All in life's book, flip through the pages.
See a king of the forest,
Find a herder of ill-will.
View the Master murderer,
Behold the Repenting Monk.

This little room smells of the dead,
Looking now on the past with a familiar dread.
The previously vibrant man of the wilds,
Now lays his head in the dead flora.
Perhaps a simple sign of times?
The heart of a man who died long ago?
Maybe there's a little bit more..
Enough to restore some life in this hollow corpse.

A man now alive, sitting in a lovely room.
Now a servant of the very people he'd slain.
Sins not repaid,
Sins not stopped.
Sinner simply prays for ability to atone.
Sinner simply hoping for redemption.

Where does the spiral end?
Does this pain ever mend?
Is the man just too far gone?
To ever know a life beyond..?
