How do I explain these feelings?
You're only suppose to be a friend
But all the time we spend together
I find myself wishing it wouldn't end

I've given my heart to another
And I know it is him who I love
Yet I just can't stop these emotions
Is it something I must rise above?

I trust you more than anyone else
I tell you every secret and every fear
I hate those who dare to hurt you
As for each of your hurts I shed a tear

All I seem to be able to think
Is that is was never meant to be like this
To always want your arms to hold me
To want to be able to feel your gentle kiss

Hopefully these feelings will pass
I'll be able to put it behind me
For we will never be anything more
Then what we've set out to be
