We outlast the stars

Written by: Journeywoman Wren Silverleaf
Date: Tuesday, March 2nd, 2004
Addressed to: Passager Linden Caelis, Squire of Milanthor

The stars in the sky could tell tales if they spoke
Of kingdoms made or of countless hearts broke
Of the many tears shed under their cold, black sky
The sorrowful voices raising to ask us all why

But they could never possibly place in verbal refrain
The love we'd share again and again
The brightness of our future and classic shine of our past
Or how a love like ours will forever last

Perhaps they would say it was a love like no other
That we laughed and cried and held one another
That no one and nothing could tear us apart
That our love had no ending, nor did it a start

But an eternal circle of love and friendship
Too great to portray by any feeble words on one's lip
A true love that outlasted the stars in the sky
Outlasted the sorrow or the questions of why

Outlasted the sands of the sea's white, cool beaches
Outlasted the sun's far stretching, warm reaches
Never before have I loved one so deep
Forever your love in my heart I will keep

And if I were to die before the 'morrow were nigh
My soul would be happy and not give in to cry
For I will be with you again, my love
When we spend eternity in the heavens above

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Vita, in the year 428 AD.
