Inside

Written by: Jeska Vian'Cirith, Celestial Sentinel

In silence there are shadows
Secrets I hide inside
Insecurity shrouded-
In disguise

I force the strength
The smile on my face
The lie clad in flesh
Not always what it seems

Even with open eyes
I cannot see you
The truth in your smile
And the love in your kiss

I tried to look beyond
To see what wasn't there
Mistakes easily made
And I did it again

I didn't learn
I didn't believe
I missed everything
You showed so openly

I am confident
In so many things
But when I look inside
All I see is insecurity

I failed again
Another mistake
In a long line
Once again, I'm sorry

I can promise to learn
And I can promise to see
Maybe someday I'll understand
They way you love me

Penned by my hand on the 4th of Halitus, in the year 429 AD.
