Thieves' Delight

Written by: Dilettante Mathiu, Understudy of the Arts
Date: Monday, April 26th, 2004
Addressed to: Everyone

A shadow seeks what is concealed
When only darkness is revealed.
What good is wealth or property
If it can't fend off misery?
Thus I shall come and take from thee
And put to better use with glee
That which ye cannot seem to spend
Or use t'ward a more decent end.
If ye cannot enjoy thy wealth
Then I'll enjoy it with myself
And share with those in greater need
Whilst leaving thee enough to feed.
The rest I'll keep and seek to play
With those who wish another day.

Penned by my hand on the 6th of Solis, in the year 432 AD.
