Why bother getting up,
theres nothing different today.
The birds still sing their chorus,
and the sun chases my shadow away.

My heart is heavy like lead,
and my face, soaked with tears.
I've lost her affection forever,
and that was the worst of my fears.

Why bother getting up,
theres nothing different today.
The morning dew still drips from leaves,
and the tall oak trees still drift and sway.

My inspiration has left my side,
I'm like a dove that can no longer sing,
I'm like a kite that will no longer glide,
as I feel each heartfelt sting.

Why bother getting up,
theres nothing different today.
She has gone, and left me forever,
so here I lie, and here I'll stay.

Penned by my hand on the 21st of Artificium, in the year 432 AD.
