I grew from childhood and neared maturity
Now at the age to catch maidens' eyes

I was buffeted about by cheating and lies

Waiting until later at a much older age
For the last time I tried to find what I sought
But then when I tried I was locked in a cage
With an emotional judge and a one sided court

Locked in the hold of a partner who used me
I told my self that my dreams were all wrong
Only in stories were the dreams that I loved to see

Then you came along and stood by my side
Helping me to unlock the heavy grey chains
Telling me that you were forever mine
Soothing me and caring for each of my pains
And I thought, this'll end up the same too

But quickly and thouroughly you proved me wrong
And your never ending love opened my eyes
