My love, how I long for you to hold me close,
To touch my face and stare into my glowing eyes.
But when I think it really is happening to me,
I wake up to the cold walls that shun me.
I see you in the streets and blush to myself,
Trying to ignore all the lustful thoughts I have.
You look at me with a curious tilt and look
So I shake my head just for you to walk away.
I reach out with my hand to stop your tread
But only snap out of my futile daydream sighing.
My heart longs and belongs to you, my dear,
Though you will never have the chance to hear.

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Artificium, in the year 442 AD.
