On Last Regret

Written by: Adept of the Shield, Moriaquinn, Ab' al Amuzgara
Date: Friday, January 14th, 2005
Addressed to: Everyone

Lost, surrendered my hope to despair
Willingly gave away my faith
Turned away from truth and justice

I had it all in what little I had
Yet still it grew, this demon within me
Haunting my thoughts, making a strong hold in my desires

One small indulgence led to another
Now I have lost what I once had
Before I even knew it was mine

Marred from my past mistakes I turned my back
I left all I once knew behind
Embracing failure and the world with unrighteous arms

Now I am here, lying on my death bed
I hear them calling me, the owners of my soul
Screeching with anticipation of my soon to be arrival

Only now do I realize my mistake
Only now as death looms before me, and eternity calls my name
Only now do I see the consequences of decisions left unmade

In this brief moment between time and forever
I see my lapse of judgment in trusting the unexplained
This last regret goes with me, as I melt into fire and flame

Penned by my hand on the 4th of Solis, in the year 453 AD.
