Tormenting Thoughts

Shivering, almost beginning to cry,
I now sit alone hidden at night...
Hoping these words won't get to fly,
I write this poem out of your sight.

The time I feared has finally come.
As I find myself with another,
Terror strikes towards my heart...
My mind is now nearly crumbled.

I cannot bear this thought...
To know that someone loves me.
All I care for, is you,
But a companion, I can never be..

I can think of so many...
All my qualities and thousands more!
Yet -I- have been chosen by you,
I, a simple man among all.

I don't know how to make you happy,
I'm not capable of such a thing.
And as jealous as I would be,
Why weren't you chosen by another being?

My goal has always been,
To make you the happiest person.
A goal now impossible to achieve,
Knowing there could have been better.

These thoughts will never leave me,
The thoughts I've always been fearing...
Now they're here to haunt me,
But, I knew it from the beginning.

I always long to see you again,
I always want to hear your sweet voice,
But now I live with this burden.
I had to choose and made my ultimate choice.

But a choice I'd always make,
The one to always be with you,
And this choice, I'll never regret...
Gelf.... I love you.

Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
