Random poetic bits

As the winds howl fiercely through the trees
I dropped down in anguish to my knees
Fire and smoke consumed all I could see
I watched my life tumble away from me
Oh, someone tell my why! Please!

My spirit crushed, barely breathing
Knees and palms bleeding, still not leaving
All in ashes, fire cooled, and smoke risen
As the winds howl fiercely through the trees

Beneath this tree I stand, lost in unfaded memory
Though a wise woman I cannot claim to be, in honesty
But, oh, on nights like these I see.
One thing I do know, cherish what is given to thee.
Some things are simply destiny
As the winds howl fiercely through the trees.

Fallen Oak Limerick

There stood an oak, strong, old and wise
Quite the oak it was, for none near could match it's size
There stands now a stump, quite the little bump
The greedy Mayor took that oak, and made from it a bench for his rump
He lost his job, no man wanted slob, I hope he values the prize.

Senryu - Dancing lady

Dancing lady, butterfly
Sweetly loving, they swiftly fall, lost
Broken, they leave, chances lost.

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Ultio, in the year 458 AD.
