I Wish

"I Wish"

I offered you my heart
And you always said you love me
You said you never wished to part
And yet you told me falsely

You left me once for Shallow
But back into my arms you came
You filled in the place that was hollow,
The heart that you'd set aflame.

I was happy, for a while
So were you, I like to think
All of a sudden, you thought me vile
And you were gone before I could blink.

So you left me then for Minx
But found out it was all a game
I ignored the obvious links
And you offered me your name.

Again, I thought you were happy
I thought we'd be alright
Turns out you weren't so thirsty
To love me all your life.

I always thought you brave
I always called you my knight
You didn't even give a wave
Like a coward, you left in the night

You bring only pain and sorrow
And thirty years worth of regret
You are a villain, not a hero,
I wish we'd never met.

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Ferinus, in the year 460 AD.
