Despair of Lost Memory

Written by: Mathiu Reopev, Whirlwind of Words

In the eve when demons call
And darkness reigns over the world.
In the eve the life will flow
From eyes to ground in agony.

Who now weeps in waters still
Ere bone and blood have turned to dust?
Who is it that beckons me
From my mourning in the dark?

The past sings true in history
As time bites hard with bitter teeth.
All things shall fall beneath its bite
And I was fool not to believe.

From Caanae on to sunken ships
The world doth turn and grind to grave.
And in that time we can but know
Ephemeral Impermanence.

Yet still I linger in this dark,
And turn upon the wheel of wills
In waiting for the time that I
Shall give up dirge for lighter song.

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Bellum, in the year 460 AD.
