The fire within me heart

Written by: Journeyman Therien

Time an' again, I've found meself alone
With nae a place ta call me home.
I sit aroun', an' swing me pick,
In these dark tunnels,
Till me candle doth lose it's wick.

But a light I saw - one day in town,
And lifted from me face, was the lonely frown,
That I had so oft worn, from a heart that had been torn,
By a world so dark an' cruel, in me eyes I beheld a glimmerin' jewel.

An' lo how this jewel did shine,
And indeed it was so fine,
That I had no choice,
But ta raise me voice,
And beg that it be mine.

Strangely so this jewel complied,
I found myself more mystified.
Touched indeed within me heart,
Me heart o' stone,
It fell apart.

And burning deeply in there now,
Be a river o' affection,
more precious than rivers of gold,
Tis quite a wonder to behold,
The depth of my affection.

Through all life, fer creatures large and tall,
Strife doth come, and go for all.
But oh so much stronger than things o' steel,
Is that thing we often do not feel.
Born on wings divine above,
That precious thing that we call love

An' with a start, I realize,
As I stare into your shining eyes,
Ye have captured this dwarf's heart.

Penned by my hand on the 21st of Letum, in the year 473 AD.
