Chill out, Chill in

Written by: Layla, The Midnight Song
Date: Wednesday, November 30th, 2005
Addressed to: Everyone

I sit and feel the time go by
I watch the clouds float across the sky.
I lay back on the lush green grass,
Just to let the voices pass.

It's quite ironic really,
To lie here smiling merely.
When I still have so much left to chew,
After all that I've been through.

And yet I lie here in this mess,
Pretending I couldn't care less.
But deep down deep inside,
I know it's only 'cause I dehydrated when I cried.

I cried for all the things you made me feel,
For the love that felt so real.
I cried for all the lies you told,
For the way you had me sold.

And now I've cried out all my tears,
I'll just lie here for a few more years.
Staring at the lazy sun,
Knowing that though I'm lying down I'm on the run.

So I sit and feel the time go by,
And I watch the clouds float across the sky.
I sigh and lay back on the lush green grass,
Just to let the voices pass.

Dedicated to a very special someone no longer in my life,
With all my love,
Layla, The Midnight Song

Penned by my hand on the 14th of Ultio, in the year 478 AD.
