The Story of One Night

Let me tell you a story of time gone by
I close me eyes, and sing, and I cry
For longing of that day long lost to time
Sit with me my friend as I tell my rhyme

Once under a full moon in the starry night sky
My lonesome gaze met yours eye to eye
Who could have said what this would be?
All we could know was what we wanted to see

So we sang and we danced on a midsummer's eve
With the wind sweeping passed us and dancing the leaves
Yet there was no tomorrow and for this I was blind
Now I look down in my heart and regret is my find

They came and they took you while I was away
I fled so unknowing and love did betray
The love of a young girl, the love of my life
The love of a woman I lost one night

- H. Llor'on

Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Vita, in the year 483 AD.
