Winter's Touch

Written by: Vaughn

Sweet the caress of winter's chill
Enfolds the world in pristine white
And draws the land upon the path
That started with Autumn's Twilight
The gentle shudders of the leaves
As they lose their tenuous hold
And cascade down amidst the snow
Into their chilled embrace enfold
Leaving bare the lonely branches
Who once were golden hued and proud
Instead are shiv'ring in the cold
And huddle 'gainst the wind so loud
The mighty grizzly seeks his home
Wherein he'll seek the slumb'ring dreams
Rememb'ring hunts, the taste of deer
And catching fish that swim the streams
The white furred wolf prowls through the snow
Stalking prey that's moved along
Except for those who fell behind
And listen to the howling song
So many lives touched by the snow
Whose reach extends the whole world through
How will the Winter's icy hand
Settle when he reaches for you.

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Aequitas, in the year 503 AD.
