Beauty and strength

She treads with strength and beauty rare,
Through frozen climes and snow-strewn pines;
And all that's best of that forest fair
Is met in her soft and slender lines:
Where dwelt my heart in ice ensnared
Now thawed where thew and grace combines.

For the gods saw fit to her bestow
Twin natures delicate to express,
As wind both soft and fierce can blow
Among her every fawn-hued tress;
Skin soft and pale as winter's snow,
Though warm and tender to caress.

The heart that beats beneath her breast,
A smile that's ruin to cold defense.
Within those nymphen arms to rest,
This man will go to any length:
To win the hand of she so blessed,
Who has true beauty, and true strength.

Penned by my hand on the 18th of Tenebrae, in the year 528 AD.
