That which is overlooked

My eyes open on a new day.
My soul is ready for work or play.
And to be with you.

It has been so long since I felt this way.
Wrapped in dark shadow I could not sway,
Nothing I could do.

Now a new light has come, shadows falling.
A new lesson, I hear true love's calling.
And face a fate I did not earn.

You were there with abiding love,
Angelic grace from above,
and unconditional concern.

Just when I thought I could never dare love again
I closed my heart, but closed you in
For you were already inside.

From the bitter ashes of deep despair
Like a phoenix risen to air,
My hopes begin to fly.

And in my heart there is no room
for doubt or fear or gloom.
Only certainty that you are true.

And on this Walk I gladly go.
Such peace, I could never know.
Except for this love from you.

And whatever troubles lie ahead
I know in my heart and in my head
Together we will pass them all.

Walking always hand in hand
In our hearts we understand
The blessings after a fall.

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Letum, in the year 530 AD.
