Aetherius Poetry Contest Free Form Entry #1 - Goodbye

So much wasted time on false love...
Did I really ever love you like that?
Your words said we were just friends
But your actions spoke differently.
Why must you tease me so?

I had strong feelings for you
You never reciprocated,
Yet I didn't think I could live without you.

I gave you my heart and soul
I was willing to let you have my body... all of me.
I guess you weren't ready for it.
Did you really think I would take this much longer?
Did you really think I could just be your toy?

I had great feelings for you...
They were smashed easily
Yet still you were in my heart.

One last question for you,
Did you really think I could wait for you forever?
We've drifted so far apart that
I can't even remember the last time I saw you.
I won't go on like this... not for you.

My feelings are fading...
So hard to get over you,
But I'm so glad I did.

I found another, I thought I should let you know.
I don't even know if you'll realize
It's you I'm talking to anyway.
But if you do happen upon this poem,
I just want to tell you goodbye.

The feelings for you are gone...
But I hope we can still be friends
See you around... maybe.

Goodbye.

Penned by my hand on the 10th of Bellum, in the year 533 AD.

Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…
