Contest Update and Judging Format.

Hello Everyone.

Firstly, I'd like to take a moment and remind everyone that the contest
is more than half over. The contest will end at the very last moment of
Solis ((Sunday at Midnight)), and we will be announcing the results by
the end of Bellum ((Wednesday)).

I would also like to mention that though we have had wonderful entries
thus far, we have only had 16 participants. In order to award
first-fourth prizes, we need a total of 25 participants. Please help y
spreading the word and generating interest. Remember to direct new
comers to the public news boards, articles 3011 and 3013.

The contest will be judged by a panel of judges whom hail from the
following places Stavenn (1), Khandava (2), Kinsarmar (1) and Antioch
(2). Ithaqua and Celidon are so far unrepresented-- if you know someone
who might be interested, please direct them my way. If not, we currently
have more then enough representation.

Lets take a moment to acknowledge the irrefutable fact that poetry is a
subjective art- like most art forms, different things appeal to
different people. So the outcome of any poetry contest is largely
subjective so long as the poem follows the guidelines provided. This is
unavoidable, but by having a panel of judges, I hope to make it a more
well-rounded competition. I myself will not be judging, so as to
maintain distance from the outcome.

The judges will each nominate their top 5 favorite poems, based on their
personal taste, and if the entry follows the specified regulations. The
top 5 poems with the most nominations will be re-submitted to the panel.
At this time, each judge will rank those five poems in order of their
favorite (worth five points) to their least favorite (worth one point).
The poem with the most points will win. In the event of a tie, the
judges will deliberate amongst themselves.

If you did not follow the format request in the public post numbered
3011, you will be penalized 3 points should your poem make it to the top
five lists. Poetry entry 173 is an example of a correctly posted poem.
Please feel free to repost any entries that might need it properly, to
avoid penalization.

Again, let's shoot for 25 entrants, please encourage others and spread
the word.

Thank you---

Lili

2021 and Beyond

Hello Imperian! Another year passes! A few months from now will mark my second year on Aetherius. Time sure flies! However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
