11.3.4 Sect Structure
Each sect has the ability to create leadership positions within the sect, assign various privilege to each such position, as well as appoint aides to each position, who can also have their own list of privileges granted by the aideship.
The list of available positions can be seen using SECT POSITIONS by those who have this privilege (this can be seen on SECT
PRIVS). This lists all the leadership positions within the sect and who holds them, as well as who the aides are. The
position holders can see more detailed information about their position, including the privileges assigned to the position.
The sect leader can create and destroy sect positions as needed, using the following commands:
SECT POSITION CREATE <name> <long name>
SECT POSITION DESTROY <name>
SECT POSITION RENAME <name> TO <new long name>
SECT POSITION DUPLICATE <name> AS <new name>
The commands require the internal position name, which is displayed on SECT POSITIONS (only the sect leader and the position
holders can see this info).
The sectmaster can also appoint players to positions, one player per position. If the sect needs more players in a single
position, the SECT POSITION DUPLICATE command can be used to easily create multiple positions with identical privileges.
The following commands are used to appoint players to positions:
SECT APPOINT <player> TO <position>
SECT OUST <player> FROM <position>
Each position can have an unlimited number of aides. Aides can be appointed and dismissed by the sectmaster, as well as by
the sect members who currently holds the position. The associated commands are:
SECT AIDE <player> TO <position>
SECT UNAIDE <player> FROM <position>
Each position has a list of assigned privileges, and a list of privileges granted to the aides. Aides can only be granted
privileges that the position has assigned. The following commands can be used to assign privileges:
SECT ASSIGN <privilege> TO POSITION/AIDES <name>
SECT REMOVE <privilege> FROM POSITION/AIDES <name>
Only the sectmaster can assign privileges to positions, aide privileges can be changed by both the sectmaster and the
current position holder. Using the SECT ASSIGN command without parameters displays the list of available privileges.
In addition to specifying position privileges, the sectmaster can also change the sect privileges that are given to sect
members upon reaching a particular sect rank.
SECT ASSIGN <privilege> TO RANK <name>
SECT REMOVE <privilege> FROM RANK <name>
SECT RANK 1-10 <new rank name>
The current distribution of privileges across sect ranks can be viewed using the SECT RANKPRIVS command. The sectmaster
can also rename the available sect ranks. Privileges can be removed from ranks entirely, they are then available only by
being assigned to sect positions. The sectmaster always has all the privileges.
A special privilege exists that cannot be assigned to a sect rank - Representative. Sect members in positions with this privilege are shown on the representatives list in SECT INFO <sect>.
