Death!

Death has changed!

When you die, you will now be transported to Charon's new room after 20 seconds. You will be brought back to life after that time (so you can sit there and set up your defenses and stuff like that).

At any point after being brought back to life in Charon's room, you can REQUEST PASSAGE TO <destination> to return to the Prime Material Plane. The travel will be instantaneous. The destinations that you can request passage to will be listed in the room description, but they will usually be your city, your city's townes, and Caanae.

For 3 minutes after being brought back to life, you will suffer 25% increased damage from other players for three minutes. Repeated deaths within that timer will increase the amount of damage you take by 25% per death, and it will reset the time. People who own the gossamer anchor will only suffer from the debuff for 90 seconds.

If your circle possesses the Obelisk of Aryana, one of the destinations that you will be able to request passage to will be the room in which you died, so you can quickly get back into the action (but still have the debuff).

If you are under the effect of an onyx soulstone, you can resurrect instantly near any city or towne (preserving the old functionality of the soulstone), and you will not suffer from the PVP weakness debuff.

You can toggle the display of the time left in your PVP weakness debuff in your prompt by using CONFIG PROMPT WEAKNESS. It also has a token for custom prompts.

This is a substantial paradigm shift to Imperian's death sequence, and we will be keeping an eye on things to see if any adjustments need to be made as well as adjusting help files and documentation. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to let me know.

Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…
