Early Autumn in 562 AD, Kalchas Bonecaster sent for Faelana Agarwaen
Snowdrifter seeking a few quiet moments with the priestess to consider
the last month's events. Finally having cleared his head, Kalchas
reiterated his bond with Ithaqua and his inability to leave home,
mentioning that perhaps that is why the bones of Kadar held such power
to Gharok.
Suddenly, Myrke rushed in with news! The encampment, the Horde - they
had not hidden within the Nolmines as Kalchas had heard, but were found
nestled within the snowfields of the Gyanis. Faelana gathered the
predators of Ithaqua, and together they sought out the massive gates of
Ghaberiak. From beyond the gate, Harad Skullcracker issued forth
declarations of his men's prowess in battle.
As the Ithaquan group formed a battering ram to take down the gate, the
creaking of wood could be heard from beyond, and suddenly the sky
darkened as black orcs landed on their feet and began an initial attack.
The Ithaquan scouting group was quickly joined by Antiochians and
originally consisted of Seric, Jynsen, Seif, Tekkor, Kataryn, Annflore,
Andun, Adelphos, Juanope, Nearyku, Nyaeve, Bramondt, Hebi, Toma, Kliko,
and Aidan. At the attacks, all jumped to their feet to protect Faelana
who was building a battering ram to take down the gate.
With incredible will, the hunting party removed the gate amidst attack
from the catapulted orcs and ogres, and as the gate fell, they fought
their way into Ghaberiak. Finally coming upon Harad himself, they tore
through the gigantic ogre with ease. They then turned their attention to
Relian who confounded a few by pushing each attacker into a pit of death
and pouring hot oil on their heads.
As they pushed their way out of the pit, the Ithaquans and few
Antiochians continued decimating the village. With one orc left, Diliak,
the party slowed for a moment to speak with him. As they took a moment
to breathe Pilook rushed in, saw them all, and quickly rushed away. The
party ran after him, and quickly their blades and prayers fell upon the
runty goblin and he too fell to their brute force.
Returning their focus to Diliak, they sought out Gharok's fate. Diliak
revealed that he recently had left the little village, taking the bones
from Kadar and seeking his kin. As well, the blacksmith mentioned that
he might return for that which he was unable to take, the crazed elf
within the woods. Where he was now, when he might return - all questions
Diliak had no answers for, yet still he promised that they had not seen
the last of Gharok.
