The soul keepers

Celidon, Khandava and Kinsarmar, for several months, have seen
increasing attacks by groups of Orcs and Ogres at boundaries of their
homes. With what initially appeared without reasoning, the Horde shouted
their demands aloud until their blood wet the ground beneath their feet.

First spotted by Joran, Miandor and Limiana had begun using Kinsarmar as
a refuge point to avoid the detections of the scouting Horde. As
Kinsarmar continued to stay under attack, Miandor decided to head to
Khandava where he was met with the sheer bravado of Khandava and
Dregaur.

As requested by Erege Joran, Ivellios scribed what had occurred and
mistakenly posted it to the public. At first the Horde thought it was a
ruse and continued attacking Kinsarmar, while Miandor and Limiana
squirreled themselves away to Celidon. Before long the Horde had gotten
wise and sent their forces to attack the forests of Khandava.

As the Horde focused their attentions on Khandava and Kinsarmar, Celidon
assisted both sides even though their home was barely touched. The Horde
grew tired of their prey continuously slipping through their clutches
and decided to strike at the heart of Kinsarmar. They brought forth
their army and trebuchet and slew any that stood in their way. They
sought answers, which no one would provide.

Feeling as if the weight should rest solely on Celidon's shoulders,
Andrea bravely told the Horde to leave Kinsarmar alone - that their prey
was hiding in Celidon. Feeling outrage at this betrayal, Miandor and
Limiana quickly bargained with Genviere, the Duchess of Kinsarmar, for
refuge in Kinsarmar.

Miandor and Limiana informed the Duchess as to why the Horde was after
them. They kept their story short: the Horde Invasion sixty years ago,
Ulssythyr, a shaman of Ssyra, fashioned two human soulkeepers to keep
General Krugtha's soul from returning to his corpse of a body. They had
been wandering the world, escaping the clutches of the Horde for many
many years.

Andrea's good deed was meant to protect Kinsarmar and Khandava but
inevitably brought the wrath of the Horde upon Celidon. Led by Orc
Necromancers, three massive armies made up of Orc and Ogre warriors
stormed the Celidon and the forests, killing all in sight. Many deaths
were accumulated until a defence mounted by Celidon and Kinsarmar was
able to decimate the corps. The Prophetess of Khandava, Aleutia, joined
the fight and took on an entire army herself and won.

All have felt the sting of the Horde invasion and seek an end - from the
Orc kidnapping the innocent, to the repelling the forces at their home's
door. Many ideas have been tried and discussed to end this fight
permanently. Will someone find the answer soon?

Penned by my hand on the 14th of Letum, in the year 597 AD.

2021 and Beyond

Hello Imperian! Another year passes! A few months from now will mark my second year on Aetherius. Time sure flies! However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
