Our beloved Gerolith, God of Might is a frequent visitor and often
resident of the various taverns and inns of Aetherius. His mighty
exploits, drinking tales, and bouts of strength have made him quite
infamous. He is known to be a little crude and somewhat misogynist. Who
would have ever thought that Gerolith, God of Might would be smitten by
an ordinary female?
A beautiful stranger passed through the tavern one day where Gerolith,
God of Might was up to his usual antics. She curled her nose up at him
and told him she thought he was disgusting when he tried to impress her
with his manly style. Gerolith, God of Might asked the girl for her name
but she would not deign to tell him. This intrigued our drunken hero,
and he set on a search to find her, determined to wed the one woman who
had the strength to stand up to him. However, the problem was he did not
know her name or how to find her.
Gerolith, God of Might traveled many places looking for this girl...the
cold pines of Ithaqua, the redwoods of Khandava, again and again to the
sands of Antioch. Finally he traveled to Kinsarmar and came across a
bard, Eludien, who told Gerolith, God of Might he could possibly help
him find her. This cunning bard had Gerolith describe the girl, and he
drew a sketch of her from Gerolith's description. Taking this sketch
with him, Eludien and Tesn traveled for Gerolith, asking various people
if they knew of her.
They discovered the identity of the girl, whose name is Odyne Engiss,
the daughter of a traveling merchant named Martel Engiss. Through
various messages passed, Odyne finally agreed to meet with Eludien and
Tesn to find out why they were searching for her. When they told her all
Gerolith had done to merely find out her name, she was not certain
whether to be flattered or afraid. However, she agreed to meet with
Gerolith as long as Tesn was there to give her support.
Odyne and Gerolith finally met, and Gerolith was on his best behavior.
Gerolith, God of Might had ceased his drinking, taken a bath, and even
brought the girl flowers. Odyne was intrigued. Gerolith sought a meeting
with her father, and asked for her hand in marriage. The marriage was
consented to, and will soon be finalized before all of Aetherius.
This is not the end of this tale...for there is much yet to be
determined. Will Gerolith be able to meet the bride price? Will the
bride balk at the last moment? Will Gerolith decide his ale is more
important than love?
