For many days and months, soothsayers, astrologers and wise men across
the land had been predicting a rare, if not unique, celestial alignment
that was due to bless the heavens and the lands beneath. Finally they
were proven right when, for the first time since the Awakening had
sundered the sky, the three moons aligned together in such a way as to
form a triple eclipse, their combined light somehow shining down upon
all.
Heralded by all as a time of great celebration, lanterns and streamers
were hung, elaborate food and drink created and many games played by all
across the land, as the gentle light of the unified moons blessed them
all. Each night, many found themselves embraced by the aura of one of
the moons, either the Bliss of Life, the Boon of Change, or the Fist of
Terror, each with powerful positive effects that enhanced their lives
and lasted until the next night.
Many prospered over the coming days as the light of the Triple Eclipse
bathed Aetherius, with even the pantheon of Gods throwing great
celebrations and competitions for the cleverest, quickest and mightiest
amongst all mortals to win great gifts and boons. For an entire year,
the land was blessed, and as the celebrations came to a climax, the
Pantheon announced a great contest between the cities and councils of
the land, the winner of which would receive great favour. The time came
and many did battle in an attempt to prove themselves, but when the dust
settled, the great Stavennite Empire proved to be victorious, and were
awarded the stunning Lunar Pylon.
As the Eclipse itself came to an end, the auras faded across the land,
yet at this time the true value of the Lunar Pylon was discovered, for
the curtain of light it contained granted one of the auras to each
Stavennite citizen who passed beneath the marble edifice. Though weaker
than the powerful auras of the Eclipse itself, their benefits were still
felt, and Stavenn rejoiced as the only people still blessed by the
powers of the Moons in this way.
