Morning

Written by: Adept of the Shield, Zohar, Resplendent Lodestar

The sun rises quietly this morning
Without a quiver of branch
Or leaf trampled underfoot
The winds say nothing to the earth
The dunes sun their backs and slumber

The river, a giant serpent, crawls slowly
Without bubble or babble
A curious lack of squeaks and scurries
From beneath the dusty streets

My heart and breath I imagine
Are sole witnesses to such a humble awakening

But before another beat should come
Or breath be taken in
The wing of some magnicicent bird
Drives hard against the wind
Only a sillhouet, I see
Against the burning sun
A sudden gust of wind envelopes me
And the morning has begun.

Penned by my hand on the 1st of Solis, in the year 420 AD.
