Homolies of Wisdom and Truth

Written by: Guardian Judicius Ecthellian, Bearer of the Sacred Torch

Addressed to: Everyone

Man shall always struggle to know
Yet what he knows, may not be what should be learnt
Learning is not knowing, and Knowing is not learning.
You must Know, what you have learnt, and Learn, what you must know.

Truth is what men seek
Yet truth is double edged
Be careful when you seek it,
Lest the sharp edge be your doom

Wise men do not know everything
You need not know to be wise
For even ignorance can be wise
Is it Wise to be the Judge of what is?

Nations strive for power and there ideal
Yet their Ideals often clash with power.
Doom be to the nations who come to this fate
For Power without ideals is lost,
And Ideals without power shall be destroyed

Men are quick to judge evil
Yet slow to see good
If all you see in life is Evil,
How can you see what is good?
For evil is always balanced by good.

The Land is mans one true home
Its care is our command
Should we forget that we live on this Land
We shall fail to see the folly in burning it down

Strength is a fickle thing
All beings desire it
Yet strength is only subject to comparison
Are you stronger then an Oak, or weaker then the worm?
When you compare such things, strength is a mere triviality

The world is a ship upon which we all sail
All men are the crew that guide it's course
If the crew is allowed to fight amongst themselves
The ship shall be dashed upon the rocks

Government seeks order
Peoples seek freedom
Both such things are good
But too much good things shall be your fall

War is never right
The death of all things is horrible
Yet it can be justified
If you truly believe in that which you fight for

Peace is like a radiant Sun
Yet even the sun can blind you
Do not fall into the trap of loss of sight
For your shadow is right behind you

Life is a warm embrace
And death is one cold
Which do you seek comfort in?
Whichever makes you bold.

Selfless men live to give there all for others
Yet if you give your all, what is left for you?
If there is nothing left of you, how can you help?

Duty is what men must doNot what they wish to doTo overcome your own
wishes to serve dutyIs proof of ones true Driving spirit

Orders are what you are told to do
Yet Orders without soul are orders made in poor judgement
Shall the blind man easily follow a deaf man?

Princes must be like mountains
No matter how hard the wind strikes them
They must never bow to its pressure

Men must be like trees
Standing tall for all there kind to see and emulate
Growing and Flourishing

One must find wisdom
To truly know

Find knowledge, and learn.

2021 and Beyond

Hello Imperian! Another year passes! A few months from now will mark my second year on Aetherius. Time sure flies! However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021

Hi folks! This year has been a challenge on many of us, and I can only hope the next year goes by more smoothly. Having said that, we have reached the end of 2020, woo! This was my first not-quite-a-year on Imperian, and it has been a whole learning experience. It has been a bit…
