Taking Score

I'm taking lives
And taking score
Doing the things we used to do
And sighing, in that certain way the wind blows
Makes me think of you
Like it always used to do
The way the river bends
And forever fields of rose-red
colored bloody
Or a blue, so midnight it was almost black
Could make me feel alone

Shocking, how you always knew
From which string our existence held
But from your eyes, I got the feeling
That though the string fray, may snap
And that though the fall would remain unbroken
That would be there

Another existential lie

I'm taking lives, taking score
Again, just like we used to do
Laughing off the blame
Like a joke that's left unsaid
Shocking how you always knew
That the way the wind blows
Makes me think of you
Again, and again we go
Without a word, without a breath

Deep into the night.

Penned by my hand on the 5th of Fas, in the year 432 AD.
