Imagine

"Imagine" said an old shrew to his wife,
"A world without earthworms! oh what a life!"

"would be a life without pleasure." she replied,
chewing a beetle at her leisure.

"Imagine" said the old shrew to his spouse"
"Enough!" she said, "I'm trying to clean the house!"

Out the shrew went, into the field to have a think,
and up above an eagle circled, staring without a blink.

"Imagine!" declared the shrew with clout,
"A world without beauty!" and picked idly at his snout.

"A world without love, without passion, without dreams!."
Up above the eagle circled, below him all the land, rivers, and streams.

And so the shrew thought on this, and shed a little tear
"I should not like that world, devoid all I hold dear."

The little shrew wife called to him, "oh dear husband! I am done!",
And our old shrew turned to her, behind him the falling sun.

Down came death, down from the skies,
hunger evident in those eyes.

"Imagine!" said the shrew quite low,
from his pack he took a bow.

"Should fate not cast me in a better light..."
"From thine heavens I cancel thy flight."

With a crack and a whistle and a thud,
down came that bird into the mud.

"Imagine..." said the old shrew with a smile,
"A little thought goes a mile".

"Should I not keep sharp of eye",
"Could've ended up as eagle pie!".

Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Letum, in the year 434 AD.

However, the vast majority of this wouldn’t happen without our wonderful team of volunteers. Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…
