and Volpe and Lakessa

Well here we sit, with jaws wide open,
Watching in amazement, each dancing tongue,
Mesmerized with each lyrical moment,
Cheering on each poem flung.

That your class and skill are so apparent,
As we perceive in each line, each argument,
Ever bringing joy and enlightenment,
And on we clap our hands in merriment.

A battle unlike any other we've seen,
Until, almost, physical battle it demeans,
Words sharper than the rapier's tip,
In superlative display of clarity and wit.

Intensify it does, and so will we,
Words come faster, and the crowd goes crazy,
As we wait and see whom the winner would be,
In this contest of wit to be remembered eternally.

ApPlause!

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Tenebrae, in the year 435 AD.
