A Prayer

Written by: Diak Andronicus, of the First Circle
Date: Sunday, August 1st, 2004
Addressed to: Thanatos, God of Death

What's a wish, if the one wished to is deaf?
Sorrow takes another form, a bit more passive.
The Lord strikes down one, and spares another,
Making the life of the other..Thoughtful, in the least.

What's a wish, if the one wished to is dead?
Their body broken, pores bled out long before.
Soul wandering in the good Lord's land.
Son no longer a trouble, care or memory.

A mortal questions not a Divine,
Seeking solely to understand Their plan.
Wandering, this young man,
Born of the Wasteland.

Now I watch as predator becomes prey,
And challenge become trite,
Prayer becomes poem,
These things all in Your name.

The wheel turns,
Let us turn towards the end.
Relinquish our suffering to You,
And meet the end, the judgement,
Meet The Lord Death.

Penned by my hand on the 12th of Fas, in the year 440 AD.
