Always lost to me.

Once a child danced in my eyes
It was me
I saw youth flee sure as the sun rises
It was meant to be
Once a child laughed in my arms
It was my firstborn
I saw love unending in such youthful charms
My past left her tattered and torn
Once I thought to seek motherhood again
It was she who was stolen away
I saw less sunshine and more rain
I still think on all of the children lost to me...

Even today.

With love...

Momma.

Penned by my hand on the 5th of Tenebrae, in the year 441 AD.
