The Things We Regret

Written by: Disciple of the Dance, Moriaquinn

I see you look at me and I wonder why
I find myself questioning my own convictions over you
I imagine a life that I know I can not live
Only to wake up to the light piercing the darkness

If only the time had been a different one
If only we had met before, before the sides were drawn and alliances set
in stone
If only's only get you so far in life

So I look at you now and I wonder how
I find myself questioning your convictions over me
I imagine the life that I know you can not live
Only to wake up to the darkness once again overcoming the sun

If only the stars were not so set in motion
If only the moons would shift their course
If only the sun was not set so high

Perhaps then the fate of our lives could come together
Perhaps then the dreams I dream......
Perhaps' never take you far in life

You get to the edge of the waterfall and you can either jump or learn
how to fly

It is not whether either decision will cause me to regret
It is whether the things I regret will cause me to make a decision

Penned by my hand on the 20th of Bellum, in the year 452 AD.
