something flows with the changing breeze
and I can't raise myself up to see

for everything worth doing
i've skipped over the greatest times
and traded them in for a busted life
with a broken soul

i got myself home today
rest assured i'm moving on
this was the first time in my life
where i did something right

i've skipped over the best of friends
to rub dirt in my bleeding wounds
i'm a optimist like that

and when the curtains fade
and the moonlight closes
we wipe the tears
from the edge of our noses
keeping shallow heartbeats
as a constant reminder
of how we're alive
when everything seems so wrong
