I'd hoped things would never end,
A change you see I cannot,
Misted by the life I once lead,
That can no longer exist.

Wanting to hold you tight,
But knowing it'd only hurt,
For the both of us,
It was a dream of old.

Your hope and life,
Placed within my hands,
Held it close to my heart,
But could not hold on.

I let it go as I did you,
But never forgetting,
What bond we had,
Forever in my memory.

Hoping to be with you once more,
Something I do not see to happen,
But crave your touch I do,
And to hear those words 'I love you."

So much wrong I know I've done,
None of it justifiable,
Knowing it won't matter at all,
To have heard those words, "I hate you."

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Bellum, in the year 467 AD.
