"The Big Hairy Orc" part 2

Scuttling in from the west,
A pheasant puffs up his breast.
He spreads out his wings, he hops and he sings,
Most certainly looking his best.

Then along came a big hairy orc,
Who hid behind a tree.
He was awed by the dance, and did not want to chance,
Lest the bird become frightened and flee.

A snap of a twig in the distance,
And the pheasant cocks his head.
At once he had spied, the orc's hairy hide,
Imposing upon his stead.

The trespassing orc stood there frozen,
Surprised at the pheasants stand,
Who was not sent aflight, by the frightening sight,
Of the big hairy problem at hand.

The bird made haste to attack,
And defiantly challenged his foe.
He jumped through the air, with grace and with flare,
But he came in a little to low.

The orc raised his leg in the air,
To avoid a bite on the knee.
He tripped over a stump, and he fell with a thump,
On the pheasant who failed to flee.

The bird just laid there motionless,
In a proud but foolish heap.
And the orc wondered why, this pheasant would try,
To attack such a big hairy creep.

Examine my tale with wisdom,
For a lesson therein is concealed.
And it could just be, that you'll finally see,
What the orc and the pheasant revealed.

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Ferinus, in the year 492 AD.

Kiandre and Valethar have been with me since last year, and are instrumental with the work they have done for the…

Onward to 2021
