nothing

Perhaps I'm the writer of my own story
The author of my own pain
It was I who silenced my joy
While others danced in the rain

It was I who told myself to smile
And fear nothing in return
If but to stay silent and small
To neither feel, nor burn

The sunlight in the eyes of the People
Either burns to the touch or warmth brings
Swiftest winds unto your feet, Heart of my Desert
For one of us finally has the fayth to sing.

Penned by my hand on the 15th of Letum, in the year 495 AD.
